Cobalt‐Catalysed, Ligand‐Controlled Regiodivergent Alkene Hydrosilylation

چکیده

Alkene hydrosilylation is amongst the largest industrial homogenous catalysis processes. Cobalt offers a sustainable alternative to commonly used platinum catalysts achieve this transformation. Using two bisiminopyridine cobalt(II) regiodivergent of alkenes has been developed. Variation pre-catalyst activator and ligand substituents were investigated enable controlled, both aryl- alkyl-substituted with phenylsilane. In contrast other regiodivergence strategies, excellent regioselectivity for either isomer was achieved using same class but differing by single methyl group (ethyl vs isopropyl).

Regiodivergent and Stereoselective Hydrosilylation of 1,3-Disubstituted Allenes.

Methods for the highly stereoselective and regiodivergent hydrosilylation of 1,3-disubstituted allenes have been developed. The synthesis of E allylsilanes is accomplished with palladium NHC catalysts, and trisubstituted Z alkenylsilanes are accessed with nickel NHC catalysts. Unsymmetrically substituted allenes are well tolerated with nickel catalysis and afford Z alkenylsilanes. Evidence for ...

Rh-catalyzed regiodivergent hydrosilylation of acyl aminocyclopropanes controlled by monophosphine ligands.

A Rh-catalyzed regiodivergent hydrosilylation of acyl aminocyclopropanes has been developed. Acyl aminocyclopropanes were reacted with hydrosilanes in the presence of Rh catalysts to afford ring-opened hydrosilylated adducts through carbon-carbon (C-C) bond cleavage of the cyclopropane ring. The regioselectivity of the addition of silanes (linear or branched) can be switched by changing the mon...

Platinum nanoparticles in suspension are as efficient as Karstedt's complex for alkene hydrosilylation.

Colloidal suspensions of monodisperse platinum nanoparticles of 2 nm diameter have been used to catalyze the hydrosilylation of 1-octene with a polymethylhydrosiloxane. The nanoparticles were found to be as efficient as Karstedt's complex, showing that colloid formation from homogeneous species during hydrosilylation reactions is not necessarily a deactivation pathway. These results also reacti...

An Easily Accessed Nickel Nanoparticle Catalyst for Alkene Hydrosilylation with Tertiary Silanes.

The first efficient and non-precious nanoparticle catalyst for alkene hydrosilylation with commercially relevant tertiary silanes has been developed. The nickel nanoparticle catalyst was prepared in situ from a simple nickel alkoxide precatalyst Ni(O(t) Bu)2 ⋅x KCl. The catalyst exhibits high activity for anti-Markovnikov hydrosilylation of unactivated terminal alkenes and isomerizing hydrosily...

Iron catalysts for selective anti-Markovnikov alkene hydrosilylation using tertiary silanes.

Alkene hydrosilylation, the addition of a silicon hydride (Si-H) across a carbon-carbon double bond, is one of the largest-scale industrial applications of homogeneous catalysis and is used in the commercial production of numerous consumer goods. For decades, precious metals, principally compounds of platinum and rhodium, have been used as catalysts for this reaction class. Despite their widesp...
